Let's celebrate your ceremony

At our initial meeting we discuss your vision for your ceremony and ensure you are comfortable with my style and approach.

Weddings

Weddings

Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)

You must fill out the Notice of Intended Marriage form and submit it to me at least one month (and up to 18 months) before your wedding date.

You will need to provide original birth certificates or passports, and if applicable, divorce papers or a death certificate of a previous spouse.

Both parties must sign the NOIM in the presence of an authorised witness, which is me, a justice of the peace, a barrister, or a police officer.

Planning the Ceremony

There are a few legal phrases that must be included in the ceremony, but beyond that, your ceremony is yours.  It can be traditional, quirky, long or short! I have developed a comprehensive booklet filled with inspirational ideas and step-by-step guidance to assist us in crafting a memorable ceremony. So, together we will design a ceremony that reflects your relationship, including vows, readings, and any cultural or personal rituals you wish to incorporate.

On your Wedding Day

I will arrive at your wedding 30 minutes before the ceremony to coordinate with everyone involved, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

You need two witnesses over the age of 18 to be present at your ceremony and sign the marriage certificates.

I will handle all legal aspects, including the lodgement of your marriage with Births, Deaths & Marriages, and provide you with a commemorative marriage certificate. I’ll also notify you once your marriage has been officially registered.

Most importantly, I’ll be there to offer support, and ensure you have the most amazing day!

Vow Renewals

Vow Renewals

Vow renewals are a beautiful way to celebrate and reaffirm your love and commitment to each other, creating lasting memories and strengthening your bond.

Vow renewals are ceremonies in which a couple reaffirms their commitment to each other. Unlike weddings, vow renewals are not legally binding and are purely ceremonial. They can be as formal or as informal as you desire and are personalised to reflect your life’s journey and love story.

Vow renewals can be intimate with just close family and friends, or a larger celebration.

Reasons for Renewing Vows

Celebrating a milestone anniversary, such as 10, 25, or 50 years of marriage.

Marking the renewal of commitment after overcoming significant challenges or difficult periods.

Simply wanting to reaffirm your love and commitment to each other in front of family and friends.

Having a more personal or elaborate ceremony if the original wedding was not as you hoped.

Planning a Vow Renewal Ceremony

Select a meaningful date and a venue that suits your preferences, whether it's a beach, garden, or a more traditional setting.

Decide on the structure of the ceremony. This can include readings, music, and personal vows.

Benefits of Vow Renewals

  • Strengthens your bond

  • Reinforces the commitment and love between you both.

  • Celebrate Milestones

  • Recognises and celebrates the journey and milestones of your journey together.

  • Family Involvement

Namings

Namings

Baby naming ceremonies are non-religious celebrations where parents officially give a name to their child in the presence of family and friends. These ceremonies are a way to welcome the child into the family and community, and they can be tailored to reflect the family's values, traditions, and wishes.

A baby naming ceremony is a beautiful way to celebrate the arrival of a new family member, fostering a sense of belonging and connection within the community of family and friends.

Elements of a Baby Naming Ceremony

Welcoming family and friends and explain the purpose of the ceremony.

You, the parents, announce the child's name and the significance behind it.

The parents, and sometimes godparents or mentors, make promises or commitments to the child.

You can include selected readings and music that hold special meaning.

Some families include symbolic actions such as lighting a candle, planting a tree, or creating a keepsake.

Guests may share their hopes and wishes for the child's future.

Then we conclude the ceremony with final thoughts and blessings.

Benefits of a Baby Naming Ceremony

Allows for a personalised and meaningful celebration tailored to your family values.

Engages your family and friends in welcoming and celebrating the child's arrival.

Provides a non-religious alternative to traditional religious christenings or baptisms.

Offers an opportunity to create lasting memories and keepsakes for the child.
