Weddings

A marriage makes of two fractional lives a whole, gives to two purposeless lives a work, and doubles the strength of each to perform it

Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)

You must fill out the Notice of Intended Marriage form and submit it to me at least one month (and up to 18 months) before your wedding date.

You will need to provide original birth certificates or passports, and if applicable, divorce papers or a death certificate of a previous spouse.

Both parties must sign the NOIM in the presence of an authorised witness, which is me, a justice of the peace, a barrister, or a police officer.

Planning the Ceremony

There are a few legal phrases that must be included in the ceremony, but beyond that, your ceremony is yours.  It can be traditional, quirky, long or short! I have developed a comprehensive booklet filled with inspirational ideas and step-by-step guidance to assist us in crafting a memorable ceremony.

So, together we will design a ceremony that reflects your relationship, including vows, readings, and any cultural or personal rituals you wish to incorporate.

On your Wedding Day

I will arrive at your wedding 30 minutes before the ceremony to coordinate with everyone involved, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

You need two witnesses over the age of 18 to be present at your ceremony and sign the marriage certificates.

I will handle all legal aspects, including the lodgement of your marriage with Births, Deaths & Marriages, and provide you with a commemorative marriage certificate. I’ll also notify you once your marriage has been officially registered.

Most importantly, I’ll be there to offer support, and ensure you have the most amazing day!
